The TFO NXT reels are an excellent choice for the entry level fly fisher. These reels feature a reliable offset compression disc drag and are constructed from durable cast aluminum.
The Midge/Mayfly vs. NXT Difference
The Midge/Mayfly cassette reels and NXT reels share the same reel frame and offset compression disc drag system. The point at which they differ is in the spools: the Midge/Mayfly spools are made of graphite and feature an optional large arbour cassette, whereas the NXT reels are made of the same cast aluminum used in the frame and are offered in a standard arbour only.
